The magical cinema phenomenon returns! The highly anticipated fourth installment of the successful franchise SCHOOL OF MAGICAL ANIMALS hits theaters on 25 September 2025. The previous films have captivated over 8.5 million moviegoers, claiming the title of most successful German films in 2021, 2022, and 2024. Each film won the German Film Award for highest attendance, with Part 3 becoming the first film since 2019 to receive the prestigious Golden Screen award for attracting over 3 million viewers, along with the coveted Bogey award.
The fourth installment continues the beloved series with an exciting new storyline featuring a threatened school closure, a major school challenge, and the introduction of two new magical animals. The film follows Miriam (Tomomi Themann), who temporarily lives with her friend Ida (Emilia Maier) and attends Winterstein School. Unaware of the magical community, Miriam’s world changes when she and her classmate Max (Thilo Fridolin Matthes) receive their magical animals – the wise owl Muriel and the energetic lemur Fitzgeraldo.
Based on Margit Auer’s bestselling children’s book series, which has sold over 10 million copies and been translated into 26 languages, this new adventure combines friendship, magic, and the challenge of saving their beloved school. Directed by the talented duo of Bernhard Jasper and Maggie Peren, the film features a stellar cast of returning favorites and exciting new additions.
