LEONINE Studios continues its impressive success story, dominating the box office charts with five titles in the Top 10 (by revenue). Leading the list is Edward Berger's visually stunning thriller CONCLAVE, which ranks as the highest newcomer at number 2. With over 100,000 admissions during its opening weekend, the Oscar®-nominated director (ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT) celebrates the most successful theatrical release of his career. CONCLAVE is not only the leader among the current standings, but also the fourth consecutive film release from LEONINE Studios to position itself in the Top 5 of the box office charts.
In fourth place is the festive family animated adventure NIKO – BEYOND THE NORTHERN LIGHTS, which has also seen positive admissions in its third week after release, now wowing over 312,000 viewers. Closely followed by Simon Verhoeven's comedy ALTER WEISSER MANN in fifth place, which delivered an impressive result in its fourth weekend with a total of 665,000 tickets sold. This makes ALTER WEISSER MANN the fifth German film this year to exceed the 500,000 admissions mark – and it continues to show signs of success for this audience favorite.
With SCHOOL OF MAGICAL ANIMALS 3 (co-produced with KORDES & KORDES Film Süd), LEONINE Studios presents the most-seen German film of the year for the fifth consecutive time, seamlessly continuing the success of the first two installments with a current total of 2.85 million viewers. In the ninth week after its release, SCHOOL OF MAGICAL ANIMALS 3 occupies the 7th place in the charts.
In recent years, the films NIGHTLIFE (2020, Wiedemann & Berg Film), the first part of SCHOOL OF MAGICAL ANIMALS (2021, co-produced with KORDES & KORDES Film Süd), SCHOOL OF MAGICAL ANIMALS 2 (2022, co-produced with KORDES & KORDES Film Süd), and DIE DREI ??? – ERBE DES DRACHEN (2023, Wiedemann & Berg Film) from LEONINE Studios have been the most-watched German films of their respective years.
The impressive results are rounded out by the live broadcast of the Puccini opera TOSCA from the MET LIVE IM KINO series, which reached 10th place (by revenue) last Saturday and is considered one of the most popular alternative content offerings in cinemas.
