ETERNAL YOU by Hans Block and Moritz Riesewieck had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2024 and has already received numerous awards, including the Scienceville Award for Best Documentary and the Award for Best Direction at the Global Science Film Festival. Most recently, the film won the Bavarian Film Prize for Best Documentary.
Block & Riesewieck had already been nominated for a Cinema for Peace Dove together with the beetz brothers film production for THE CLEANERS (2018).
For beetz brothers film production, this is the sixth Cinema for Peace Dove nomination in total. As early as 2011, their production BLOOD IN THE MOBILE was awarded in the Justice category. In the following years, there were further nominations for the productions 1989 - POKER AM TODESZAUN, THE FORUM, and IN THE SHADOW OF BEIRUT.
The renewed awarding of the Cinema for Peace Dove is a great recognition and at the same time confirms beetz brothers’ constant commitment to strong and relevant stories.
Christian Beetz, producer: "The Cinema for Peace Award stands for films that champion open exchange and the business model of democracy. It is a great joy and recognition for us to be honored with the award in these difficult times. Our documentary film ETERNAL YOU stands for a critical examination of the technology of artificial intelligence."
