Enduring Popularity of the SCHOOL OF MAGICAL ANIMALS Franchise: German Film Award for the Most Admissions!

SCHOOL OF MAGICAL ANIMALS 3 has won the German Film Award for the most visited film for the third consecutive year. This incredible feat cements the franchise's status as the most captivating family entertainment in recent German cinema.

With over 3 million admissions, SCHOOL OF MAGICAL ANIMALS 3 has been honored with the prestigious "Golden Screen" and "Bogey" awards, making it the first film since 2019 to achieve this distinction. The German Film Award ceremony is set to take place on May 9th.

Building on the tremendous success of the previous two installments, which were also recognized as the Most Visited Films in 2022 and 2023, the third chapter of the SCHOOL OF MAGICAL ANIMALS cinema series premiered on 26 September 2024. This latest adventure follows the magical community as they navigate a range of turbulent events, including a threatening bankruptcy, planned deforestation of the local forest, a mishap at the natural history museum, and the preparations for a grand performance.

Directed once again by Sven Unterwaldt (CATWEAZLE, FOUR MAGICAL SISTERS), SCHOOL OF MAGICAL ANIMALS 3 is based on the bestselling children’s and young adult book series by Margit Auer. The series has resonated with over 10 million readers in the German-speaking world and has been translated into 26 languages, testament to its universal appeal.

The film’s captivating cast features the return of Emilia Maier, Loris Sichrovsky, Emilia Pieske, Lilith Johna, Leonard Conrads, Justus von Dohnányi, Heiko Pinkowski, and Milan Peschel, alongside new additions including Luis Vorbach as Silas, Christina Große as Miss Cornfield, Meltem Kaptan as the museum director, and Freshtorge as the social media manager. The magical animals’ voices are once again brought to life by acclaimed actors such as Max von der Groeben, Sophie Rois, Katharina Thalbach, Axel Stein, and Rick Kavanian, with Ralf Schmitz and Felix Kramer joining the ensemble as the voices of Karajan the cat and Rick the crocodile, respectively. The film’s soundtrack features a song by the singer LEA, "Alles nichts ohne Dich," which plays during the closing credits.

Audiences can immerse themselves in the world of SCHOOL OF MAGICAL ANIMALS 3 through the official audiobook, which features the original voices and music from the film, narrated by Johannes Steck. The production of this third installment was a collaborative effort between KORDES & KORDES Film Süd, LEONINE Studios, and LIGHTBURST Pictures, with funding support from FilmFernsehFonds Bayern (FFF), Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung (MDM), the German Federal Film Board (FFA), Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg (MBB), Film- und Medienstiftung NRW and the German Federal Film Fund (DFFF).
